Frequently asked questions

Everything about making games with Gamemancer — the desktop AI game maker that turns a prompt into a playable 2D/3D game you can export to web, Unity and mobile.

What is Gamemancer?

Gamemancer is a desktop AI game studio. You describe a game in plain language and an AI agent builds a playable 2D or 3D WebGL game for you — including generated worlds, models, animation, art and audio — which you can then export to Web, Mobile and Unity. It runs on your own computer and works with whatever AI you prefer: free local models, free or low-cost API models through OpenRouter (including inexpensive options like DeepSeek), or your existing Claude (via Claude Code) or ChatGPT (via OpenAI Codex) subscription.

How do I get started with Gamemancer?

Download and install Gamemancer, then open Settings and pick how you want to generate: a free local model, free or low-cost models via OpenRouter (such as DeepSeek), or connect your existing Claude (Claude Code) or ChatGPT (OpenAI Codex) subscription. Then just describe your game — the agent starts building, you preview it instantly, and you keep improving it and adding features by prompting.

Can I make a game without coding?

Yes. Gamemancer is built for people who do not code: you describe what you want and the agent generates a real, playable game — no programming required. Developers can still dig into and own the generated code, but it is not necessary to make and export a game.

What kinds of games can I make with Gamemancer?

You can make 2D and 3D WebGL games across many genres, with AI-generated worlds, 3D models, rigs and animation, images and textures, and audio. It supports full 3D and Gaussian-splat worlds, and games can include multiplayer and cloud saves. Whether you have an original idea for a game you have always wanted to make, or you want to build your own take on an existing hit — the same genre with your own twists and changes — you can do both with Gamemancer.

Can Gamemancer research successful games and help me plan my own?

Yes. Even without a specific title in mind, Gamemancer can research what's working across popular and viral games — by genre, category or audience — and turn it into an original game concept and a detailed build plan, then build it phase by phase. Prefer to start from a game you admire? Ask for something in that genre with your own mechanics and changes. Either way the result is your own game, shaped by what succeeds — not a copy of it.

Can Gamemancer find and plan a winning game idea for me?

Point it at a genre, a category or an audience — or a specific game you like — and Gamemancer researches what makes those games work, proposes an original concept with your own twist, and writes a detailed plan it then builds into a playable game. You get your own game informed by the hits, not a clone.

Does Gamemancer research the market, or do I need an idea first?

You don't need a finished idea. Gamemancer can research successful and viral games across genres and categories, identify what makes them succeed, and propose an original game for you to build — or take a title you name as a jumping-off point for your own version. It plans and builds the game phase by phase, and what you ship is your own, not a copy.

Does Gamemancer run locally on my computer?

Yes. Gamemancer is a desktop application for Windows, macOS and Linux. Your prompts, project files and generated games are processed on your own machine (and by the AI providers you connect) — they are not sent to or stored on our servers.

What does "bring your own keys" mean, and how much does it cost to make a game?

You bring your own AI, and Gamemancer adds no markup and charges no per-game fee. You can start for free with local models or OpenRouter's free tier, pay just a few cents per game with low-cost APIs like DeepSeek, or use your existing Claude (Claude Code) or ChatGPT (OpenAI Codex) subscription. You pay the provider directly, so the cost of making a game stays low and fully in your control.

Can I export my game to the web, Unity, and mobile?

Yes. You can export to the web to play and share your game online, to Unity via an export pipeline, and to mobile (iOS and Android) via React Native. Web export is included; Unity and mobile export are part of the Pro tier.

Do I own the games I make with Gamemancer?

Yes. You own your projects and the content you generate. Because it is bring-your-own-key and runs locally, there is no lock-in — you keep your games and can export them.

How is Gamemancer priced?

Gamemancer is a one-time purchase — there is no subscription. It comes in two tiers, Basic and Pro, with a limited-time launch price for early buyers. See the pricing section on the homepage for the current amounts, and join the early-access list to lock in launch pricing.

What is the difference between the Basic and Pro tiers?

Basic includes unlimited local game builds, full 2D/3D and Gaussian-splat worlds, all AI asset generation, web export, bring-your-own-keys, local/offline models, and use on up to 3 devices. Pro adds React Native mobile export (iOS and Android), the Unity export pipeline, and priority support.

Who is Gamemancer for?

Gamemancer is for anyone who wants to make great games fast — describe a game, preview it instantly, then iterate to refine it and add new features. That includes creators, indie developers, studios, marketing agencies, educators, freelancers, brands and community teams.

What AI models does Gamemancer use?

You choose. Gamemancer works with free local models that run fully offline on your machine, API providers like OpenRouter, DeepSeek, OpenAI and Anthropic, and — if you already subscribe — Claude via Claude Code or ChatGPT via OpenAI Codex. Your keys, subscriptions and settings stay on your device and are only used with the providers you select.
